This is how I felt reading the latest post. First, tired, (it’s been a long day full of really messy meals with an almost one-year-old), then…interested, once I actually started reading, and finally, elated. I am pretty excited about the pending possibilities for this project.
I agree that the experiment should exist without proper “goals.” That, like the brain development process, the work should be built around the evolution of a narrative that builds new understandings, (neuro-networks), and leaves any definitive goal undefinable. That said, I also agree that we have to establish some clear ways to articulate the process, (I like the idea of initially borrowing from the realm of psych to create an experimental process), express the process (here I think the sky’s the limit to draw upon our collective creative output), and express the outcomes we’ve seen…so far. I think it is ESSENTIAL that the experiment is informed by and altered based on the input/results.
I’m still pretty captivated by the idea of using *dry* scientific mediums to express artistic endeavor. So, I think we should do some research into psych experiments. Some of the most famous, and diagram how they’re structured. And also how the data is displayed and interpreted. I’ll post some research on that soon.
Also, a couple of the projects I did in grad school revolve around the great social experiment on a building-park scale. I’ll post the work and explanations for some inspiration and feedback.
